Welcome to the sixth edition of our newsletter. This newsletter is designed for the Friends of Çatalhöyük; its aim is to keep the Friends informed of the activities of the Project and of the different aspects of the research being conducted at Çatalhöyük. This is the first opportunity to pass on information about the discoveries that were made during the 1999 excavation season.
The project works in Turkey with a permit provided by the Turkish Ministry of Culture, and under the auspices of the British Institute of Archaeology at Ankara. In Cambridge it is supported by the McDonald Institute for Archaeological Research and the University of Cambridge.
